David just passed the 12th stage! He had probably some problems in the last sand part and finished as 30th. Never mind! He’s still keeping 17th place overall and it’s just last 157 km tommorow! I don’t want to say it aloud, because David is really superstitious, but this going to be his best result ever!
Ufff! David is already in El Salvador! It took him 7 hours and 20 minutes! Another 605 km of special stage! 120 km through the Atacama desert! David told us, that it’s really difficult to be fast in the morning (today he woke up before 5 o’clock AM). Keep pushing, we are with you, David! Today it’s 21st position, really goooood!
Already 10th stage is now history. Riders passed 631 km of special stage splitted into two parts. First part was sand and second well known Dakar Fesh-Fesh. David is keepeing his standard! Today did he this stage in 05:30:30 (average speed 115 km/h!!!). That’s 25 position in the stage and 17th overall! We are just waiting for result of a Laia’s protest. Only three stages to th end!
David just went down from the 3 km sand dune to the Iquique beach. Finally came they to the normal altitude! This stage was full of stones in the beginning until riders came to the Atacama desert. The driest place in the world!
David did this 422 km special stage in 05:42:35, so he is 27th. That moved him forwards in overall standings to 19th!
8th stage? DONE! 462 km of special stage was whole in highs about 3700 meters above the sea level (crazy). Riders passed 40 km through a dry salt lake, also stones, soil and sand!
David did it in 06:02:26, 31st position. Overall he keeps 20. position, he is OK in bivouac, his bike is OK and ready for next stage! This is not the end!
Welcome to the second half of the most difficult race in the world! Today riders started by 373 km of connection to pass 409 km of shorted special stage because weather. Again are bikers in different bivouac than the rest of the team, so it depends, how they saved tyres, because they have to use it again tomorrow!
Today wasn’t for David the best day, we know he doesn’t feel good in these altitudes (more than 4000 meter above the sea level). Still he did it in 03:56:31, that’s 33rd position and that kept him in top 20 overall! Keep going David!
